Training and fitness is a natural calling for Jan-Michael Jenkins, having competed on the high school and collegiate levels as a stand-out receiver and quarterback. He studied Kinesiology at the University of Houston and has remained a continuous student of strength, fitness and overall wellness, gaining his ISSA Certification.
Jan-Michael understands the importance of hard work and focus. He started his career working at 24 Hour Fitness as a personal trainer and eventually advanced to Performance Coach at PLEX, where he helped elite athletes reach their maximum potential on and off the field. His diversity in fitness development ranges from middle school students and professional athletes to stay-at-home moms looking to improve the quality of their lives.
He developed Legacy Fitness to help others reach their personal fitness and wellness goals following his personal motto of “Mind, body and soul.” The Legacy Fitness system was developed around the three principles of coaching, accountability and motivation to alleviate the struggles that many deal with getting their bodies and lives into shape.
Amber is the second component to the Legacy Fitness one-two punch. She brings a strong combination of grace, agility and athleticism to our training.
Before joining Jan-Michael, she developed her skills as a professionally-trained dancer from an early age well into adulthood, where she continues to hone her skills. After studying Nutrition and Anatomy, she’s able to bring expert dietary advice and innovative movement techniques to our system.
Amber is incredibly competitive and helps instill her level of drive into those around her. It’s part of our success at helping reshape lives. Her personal attention and warm, attentive personality help build the strong sense of community within the Legacy Fitness team.
Missi Krause became a personal trainer for all the right reasons. After struggling with health issues and being sedentary until her early 20’s, Missi discovered the amazing healing benefits of a healthy lifestyle. At the age of 24 years old and 7 months pregnant, Missi was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. To combat this illness and protect her unborn child, Missi began to eat in accordance with the diabetic diet and to walk 20 minutes each day. She was amazed by her body’s response and how quickly her blood sugar stabilized. She ended that pregnancy in better shape than when she began and her faith in the medicinal effects of exercise & nutrition grew!
Missi began teaching group fitness classes and quickly moved to personal training. Missi has a BA from Rice University and obtained her personal training certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Missi has always loved the one on one aspect of private training. Missi believes that being healthy both mentally and physically begins with a healthy diet and easy to follow exercise plan. Missi easily relates to her clients. She is a working mom (of 5 kids) who understands the struggles of making time for exercise and feeding a family in a way that is both healthy AND nutritious. Missi focuses on goal oriented personal training. She helps her clients set realistic and attainable goals. Missi believes the only way to achieve long lasting results is with a combination of strength training, cardiovascular workouts, and proper nutrition. Missi’s workouts are safe, effective and enjoyable. Having 20 years’ experience as a personal trainer Missi is easily able to train all age groups and fitness levels. Missi has been where you are and can get you where you want to go!
